Copy of Last Will and Testament of Mahlon Whitacre

In the name of the Benevolent father of all I, Mahlon Whitacre of Bloom Township Wood county Ohio ,Do make and publish this my last will and testament.
Item 1 I give and devise to my beloved wife in lieu of her dowery* the farm on which we now reside Situated in Bloom township Wood county Ohio being the south part of the Southeast quarter of section six in Township three north of range eleven. All of said quarter lying South of the county road running through said quarter from east to west containing about ninety acres during her natural life. And all the stock household goods and chattels, which may be thereon at the time of my decease during her natural lifetime as aforesaid. The however selling so much thereof as may be sufficient to pay my just debts. At the death of my said wife the real estates aforesaid shall be equally divided between my four surviving children Edward M Whitacre Reason Whitacre Isaac Whitacre Lydiann Mc Cory and their heirs.
Also all moneys *if any their*should be after the discharge of all my just debts, I give and devise to my beloved wife her life time *.
Item 2 I devise and bequeath to my daughter Lydiann McCory the north part of the south east quarter of section six in township three north of range eleven All of said quarter lying north of the county road running from east to west through said quarter containing about seventy acres.
Item 3 I do, hereby, give and devise to Martha Whitacre wife of Preston Whitacre deceased all the South west quarter of the Southwest quarter of section thirty-two Township falling north of range eleven continuing about forty acres , for her natural lifetime And at her decease to the heirs of Preston Whitacre deceased.
Item 4 I give and devise to Abia Stackhouse five Dollars to be paid by my executors at the final letting up of the estate
Item 5 I do also give and devise to Phebe Alles Stackhouse fifty Dollars in goods and Chattels at the decease of my wife provided she is of age.
Item 6th I do give and devise to Joel and Alen * Stackhouse ten dollars each to be paid when they become of age
Item 7th I do hereby nominate and appoint Reason Whitacre and Mose Bonham executors of this my last will and testament hereby authorizing and empowering them to compromise adjust release and discharge in such manner as they may deem proper the debts and claims due me
I do hereby revoke all former will by me made. In testimony whereof have hereunto let my hand and seal this 26 day of July A 1847 Signed and acknowledged by said Mahlon Whitacre as his last will and testament in our presence and signed by us in his presince*
